Stages of developing dentition

  • First 6 months
  • 6 months -3 years
  • 3 years- 6 years
  • 6 years-9 years
  • 9 years -12 years
  • 12 years -21 years

Order of eruption – Deciduous Dentition

  1. Lower Central Incisors
  2. Upper Central Incisors
  3. Lower Lateral Incisors
  4. Upper Lateral Incisors
  5. Lower First Molars
  6. Upper First Molars
  7. Lower Canines
  8. Upper Canines
  9. Lower Second Molars
  10. Upper Second Molars

In a normally developing child

  • 6 months to 24 months ( 2 years )
    All the deciduous teeth will appear in to the oral cavity.
  • 30 to 36 months ( 3 years )
    All the deciduous teeth should have erupted and the occlusion of the deciduous dentition established. (Root completion of molar 3 years).
  • 20 – milk teeth by the age of 3 years
    Child is maintains all the 20 milk teeth until 6 years
